Jody Johnstone Pottery

I built my anagama kiln in 1997 after a two year apprenticeship in Japan with National LIving Treasure, Jun Isezaki.  I have been doing two woodfirings a year ever since.  The kiln is loaded with approximately 800 pots and is stoked continuously for 8 days by a crew of potters.  The unique and beautiful surfaces are a result of the interaction of the flame and wood ash and the clay.  I make a wide range of pots for the table,  home and garden. Visitors welcome by appointment or chance year round.
